SocietyOn Thursday, March 19th 2015, the Seimas of Lithuania accepted the law amendments on reinstatement of military conscription for consideration. MPs, however, want to specify the criteria of drafting, service time and to increase funding of professional army. Lithuania's political parties do not have a unanimous opinion on conscription, even though the Seimas is scheduled to consider the Law on the Organisation of the National Defence System and Military Service on Thursday, 19 March 2015. In February 2015, the first time in the last three months, a slight increase in consumption was observed in Lithuania. When planning the future investments of the European Union, their effect in both economic and social aspects must be considered. The Bank of Lithuania, jointly with the European Central Bank (ECB) and other central banks of the Eurosystem as of 9 March 3015 is undertaking an expanded asset purchase programme.
