SocietyChina Merchants Group (CMG) signed in Beijing on Thursday agreements with the Klaipeda Free Economic Zone (FEZ) and the Klaipeda port authority as part of its plans to expand in the Lithuanian seaport. Lithuania's electronic communications market revenues grew by 4.5% in the third quarter from a year ago to reach 158.3 million euros, preliminary data from the Communications Regulatory Authority (RRT) showed on Wednesday. According to the provisional data of Statistics Lithuania, in III quarter 2015, accommodation establishments accommodated by 7.3% more guests than in the same quarter of 2014 and received 894.6 thousand tourists. A total of 3.614 million passengers went through Lithuanian airports in the ten months through October 2015, a rise of 10.8% year-on-year, figures from Statistics Lithuania showed on Friday. Hanner, a leading Lithuanian property development group with operations in Lithuania, Ukraine, Russia, Latvia and Romania, plans to spin its cash flow generating projects off into a new company named Hanner RE in an effort to streamline its business. Holders of Snoras' certificates of deposit (CDs) will recover their money, but bonds issued by the now-bankrupt Lithuanian bank are not covered by the deposit insurance system, the Lithuanian Supreme Court ruled on November 17th. More than one in four children in Europe are at risk of poverty and social exclusion, which will have repercussions for them throughout life. President Dalia Grybauskaitė watched NATO military exercise Iron Sword 2015 at the General Silvestras Žukauskas Training Area with more than 2.5 thousand troops from 9 NATO member states and Georgia taking part. This year, it is the largest field training exercise in Lithuania, during which local and allied troops train and prepare for collective defense under Article 5 of the North Atlantic Treaty. The exercise is also planned for next year to test the preparedness of conscripts.
