According to Statistics Lithuania, in February 2015 compared with February 2014, the number of goods and mail handled in Lithuania's airports decreased by 28%, while Lithuanian airlines carried by 27.1% less goods and mail.
In January-February 2015, the number of passengers at airports totalled 497,900, or by 18% more than in January-February 2014. Most passengers travelled to or from the United Kingdom (113,300 or 22.8%), Germany (49,700 or 10%), Norway (46,000 or 9.2%), Italy (37,300 or 7.5%), Denmark (28,400 or 5.7%) and Ireland (24,900 or 5%).
Compared the data of January-February 2015 with the same period of 2014, the number of passengers travelling to or from the United Kingdom increased by 34.4%, Norway by 19.7%, Italy by 16.7%, Ireland by 5.7%, Denmark by 4.9%, Germany by 3.9%. Most people, 94.9% or 472,700, used regular flights, a 17.8% increase.
In January-February 2015, a total of 1,700 tonnes of goods and mail were handled, or by 10.5% less year-on-year. The number of landings and take-offs totalled 6,700, or by 8.1% more year-on-year.
In January-February 2015, Lithuanian airlines carried 45,900 passengers, by 47.1% more year-on-year. Most of them, 25,800 or 56.2%, were carried on non-scheduled flights, this is by 16.6% more year-on-year. Passenger-kilometres by air stood at 96.2 million, a 28.2% increase.
In the first two months of 2015, Lithuanian companies carried 75 tonnes of goods and mail, i.e. by 35.8% less than in the same period of 2014. Turnover of goods and mail fell by 70% and totalled 28,000 tonne-kilometres by air.
