Amid ongoing negotiations with vaccine producers, Lithuanian institutions are analyzing how many vaccine doses the country might need and how the state could compensate them.
"The need for vaccines in Lithuania is now being analyzed. When it becomes clear which producers EU members plan to buy vaccines from and how much the vaccine will cost, politicians will also make decisions on the money needed for the purchase of vaccines," Kristina Garuoliene, a health vice minister, said.
Based on data from the World Health Organization, 23 potential COVID-19 vaccines have reached to clinical trial phase but only the creators of one of them had provided clinical data on the first trial phase.
