The planned source of funds is an increase in excise taxes on alcohol. This was revealed by PM after the meeting of the Political Council on Monday.
"The Ministry of Social Security and Labour has accurately estimated everything and planned that LTL 443 million (EUR 128.3 million) must be compensated and we have planned to compensate LTL 88.6 million (EUR 25.7 million) in the last quarter of this year. It would be 20 percent of the sum planned to be compensated," said the head of the Government.
According to him, the rest sum will be compensated in 2015 and 2016.
Butkevicius says that funds for this purpose are planned to be received from up to 20 percent increase in excise taxes on alcohol, internal reserves will be searched as well. The head of the Cabinet hopes that due to fighting against the shadow economy, the collection of revenues to the budget will improve.
According to Butkevicius, in the short run, in March, it is planned to submit and adopt draft laws on increase to excise taxes on alcohol. "As you know, tax laws take effect after six months," said Butkevicius.
