On February 17–18 Minister of National Defence Arvydas Anušauskas will take part in the virtual NATO Defence Ministerial which is planned to focus on running issues of the Alliance, including multinational NATO operations in Afghanistan and Iraq, importance of sharing the financial burden in NATO, strengthening of deterrence and defence.
The Ministers will also discuss the NATO 2030 initiative and proposals concerning the ways of getting the Alliance ready and strong enough for future challenges. Defence Ministers of NATO partners Finland and Sweden will also take part at the meeting.
