Their meeting focused on the bilateral relationship between Lithuania and Russia and its prospects, as well as on the importance of good-neighborhood principles in developing mutual relations based on trust and respect for universal values and human rights.
The President and the Ambassador also discussed the dynamics of economic cooperation and bilateral trade, cultural ties between the two countries and their development, people-to-people contacts and the negative impact of the global pandemic on them.
Alexey Isakov, born in 1960, is a graduate of the Moscow State Institute of International Relations. He started working in the diplomatic service in 1982. Alexey Isakov was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Lithuania on 16 October 2020.
