The architectural heritage from the Modern Movement era has been more endangered in recent decades than this from any other period in history. As many people do not perceive the interwar period architecture as heritage, this results in demolished buildings and other damage. Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) researcher, architect Huriye Armağan Doğan proposes a novel approach based on eye-tracking technology to determine which architectural characteristics or features influences the perception of certain objects as cultural heritage.

Kaunas Faculty of Vilnius University, considering the increasing need for cybersecurity competencies and information literacy in our country, will, for the second time in a row, host the international cyber security competition VU Cyberthon on 17-18 February. Competitors can register for the event in advance. By the end of January, 600 participants from more than ten countries around the world had already registered.

The Commission for Lithuanian Science Prizes has announced this year’s winners. Vilnius University (VU) community members received recognition for their contribution to science in as many as five fields out of seven.

The VILNIUS TECH International Relations Office has organised the annual Language Club since 2021. Sixteen VILNIUS TECH international (10 full-time and 6 Erasmus exchange) students took the role of language teachers and ran the Language Club for over 100 peers this year from October to December. As a result, students acquired basic foreign language skills and discovered new cultures.

Lung cancer is among the most common cancers. How does this disease affect the body? Is it inherited? Finally, why is lung cancer often only diagnosed in later stages?

On the 1st of April, the day of the 443rd anniversary of Vilnius University (VU), a science communication competition “Science Sprint” will take place. The competitors will have to present their research or science idea in 3 minutes. The authors of the best presentations will be rewarded with cash prizes.
