EconomySEB pension fund asset management companies in Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia have teamed up with the leading private equity firm in Baltics BaltCap to invest EUR 16.26 million of pension fund assets in developing Baltic companies through BaltCap Private Equity Fund II (BPEF II). President Dalia Grybauskaitė met with the Speaker of the Upper House of the National Diet of Japan, Masaaki Yamazaki, to discuss bilateral relations and cooperation in the fields of science and innovation. The President thanked Japan for supporting Lithuania's membership in the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). According to the data presented by insurance companies, most Lithuanians work as salespersons, while air traffic controllers earn the highest salaries. Statistics Lithuania informs that, based on non-final data obtained from customs declarations, Intrastat reporting and VAT returns data, exports in May 2014 amounted to LTL 6.9 billion, imports – LTL 7.6 billion. In 2014, revenue to the state budget has been collected better than expected, thus the Government hopes the budget will receive LTL 65 million (EUR 19 million) more than previously projected. After two years of construction work and having invested more than LTL 70 million, Klaipeda Stevedoring Company (KLASCO) has opened a new terminal. Construction company AB Panevezio Statybos Trestas has signed a contract with UAB Devold regarding new textile factory construction in Panevezys, AB Panevezio Statybos Trestas announced in a statement.
