The oil group Orlen Lietuva topped the list with 98 million euros, a rise of 31.6% year-on-year, followed by the oil product wholesaler and real estate lessor Okseta with 57.5 million euros, up by 3%, at number two, and the tobacco manufacturer Philip Morris Baltic with 46.2 million euros, up by 12.3%, in third position.
Excise duties and the value-added tax make up a large part of all taxes paid by the biggest tax-payers.
Further down the list was the liquefied natural gas and oil product terminals' operator Klaipedos Nafta with 44.9 million euros, up by 29%, followed in fifth place by the wholesale trade and logistics company Sanitex with 36.5 million euros, up by 9%.
The top ten tax-payers contributed a total of 424.883 million euros in taxes to the state's coffers in the first quarter (up by 3.1% year-on-year), accounting for 32.5% of all taxes paid by the top 500 tax-payers.
