Riga was in second place with 18.3 mln tons of cargo reloaded in the six months of 2016, down 11.5% from the respective period a year ago, and Tallinn was third with 10.7 mln tons.
Latvia’s northwestern port of Ventspils followed with ten mln tons and Liepaja in southwestern Latvia with 2.7 mln tons.
As reported, all Latvian ports together saw their cargo turnover drop 15.1% year-on-year to 31.7 mln tons in the first half of 2016, according to the Transport Ministry’s information.
