Summer universiade: Lithuanians already have six medals

The summer universiade is already half way done. Lithuanians won six medals so far - three gold, one silver, and two bronze.

At the universiade in Kazan, Russia, Lithuanians sportsmen have already achieved big success - six medals.

Gold medals were all won by Lithuanian rowing experts. Mindaugas Griškonis won a medal at men's single sculls competition. Lithuanian female rowers - Vistartaitė Donata and Valčiukaitė Milda - won gold medals in a double sculls competition. Maščinskas Rolandas and Ritter Saulius also had no equals at the male double sculls tournament.

Silver medal was acquired by Lina Grincikaitė who won women's 100 m running competition.

Two bronze medals were won by Eglė Balčiūnaitė and Tadas Tamašauskas. E. Balčiūnaitė won bronze in the women's 800 m running competition. T. Tamašauskas won bronze in the men's 91 kg boxing tournament.

The universiade will last until the 17th of July.
